He was born in San Lorenzo, Santa Fe Province, Argentina on May 29, 1900, went to university in the United States, then worked for the power company in Havana, Cuba as an electrical engineer until 1947. Alfred then moved to Madison, Wisconsin where he lived until his death on November 3, 1975.
Alfred married Margherita Libby; they had one son, John Libby Hudson, in 1934.
