Hudson Journeys

Hudson Journeys tells the stories of one of the many families that have the surname "Hudson". 

Our oldest known Hudson, Andrew, was born in the tiny village of Newton-le-Willows in North Yorkshire, England in 1727, and died there in 1780. Andrew's children who lived to adulthood (Henry, John, James, William and Susannah) were all born in Newton-le-Willows and baptised at the parish church in Patrick Brompton, but died elsewhere.

The oldest church records of the family from the 1700's spell the name as "Hotson". We owe the modern spelling of our surname to a change in the parish priest between the births of William in 1773 and of Susannah in 1776.

Since William, our Hudson's have moved from England to Argentina and the United States.

                lived in Havana, Cuba c.1925 to 1947, then in Madison until death
